What Rockstar's own pages say right now

The official Grand Theft Auto VI site lists two launch platforms — PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S — with a November 19, 2026 release, and describes a story about Jason and Lucia running across the state of Leonida, the wider map that already contains Vice City. Those are Rockstar's own words on its own product page, which is the only listing on this topic worth treating as authoritative.

Nothing in that listing mentions Windows. Rockstar has not announced a PC version of GTA VI, has not given a PC date, and has not published PC system requirements. That silence is a fact about the situation, not a gap in our reporting, and we treat it as such on our system requirements page.

How the date moved: three windows, two slips

Understanding why nobody should treat any Rockstar date as sacred requires the history:

1. Announced for 2025. Rockstar revealed GTA VI with a trailer in early December 2023, and Take-Two guided to a 2025 launch window.
2. Moved to May 26, 2026. In May 2025 Rockstar reset expectations with a Newswire post titled "Grand Theft Auto VI is Now Coming May 26, 2026," pushing the game roughly seven months later than the original window's midpoint.
3. Moved again to November 19, 2026. On 6 November 2025, Rockstar announced a second delay. BBC News reported the company's stated reason was that the extra months were needed to reach the level of polish fans expect and deserve — the same reasoning Rockstar has attached to most of its slips, and the same reasoning its fans find least comforting the second time.

• The final phase of marketing is running. Through the summer Rockstar moved from teasers to long-form gameplay showcases and live storefront promotion — the kind of expenditure a studio does not usually fund while a delay is under active consideration.
