Every other page in this catalog can at least anchor its card to a console number. This one cannot. The GeForce RTX 4090 arrived in 2022 as an ultra-tier product with 24 GB of memory, and there is no shipping console with anything like that figure attached to a graphics processor — the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, the machines that will run GTA 6 from 19 November 2026, each work from a 16 GB shared pool. The usual reasoning shortcut is therefore unavailable, and honestly it was never a shortcut to anywhere.

What a PC build would actually be spending the memory on

Since no computer edition has been announced, the useful exercise is to name the settings that would decide the question, rather than to pretend a capacity figure answers it:

• Render resolution, the single largest lever, and one no console constrains a PC owner to.
• Ray-traced reflection and lighting buffers, if a future build exposed them at console-plus quality.
• Texture pools, which scale with resolution far faster than most buyers expect.
• View distance and the density of streamed world detail around the player.
• Anything the community adds later: reshades, replacement texture sets and heavy mods are where flagship cards historically get eaten.

Notice that every item on that list is a knob in a settings menu nobody has written yet. That is the real reason a 24 GB card cannot be assessed here — not insufficiency, but absence.

"It will run it at max" is unknowable, and here is why

The claim gets made about this card after nearly every major release, and it is always an extrapolation from games that exist. GTA 6 on PC is not one of them. Rockstar has published no requirements, announced no Windows build, and said nothing about what a maximum preset would even contain. Beyond that, an unbounded ceiling is how unoptimised launches damage the best hardware worst.

Where a defensible estimate comes from
